Accra-Kumasi Expressway: 51km Corridor Cleared, Compensation Next

Significant progress is being made on the Accra-Kumasi Expressway project, with approximately 51 kilometres of the route now cleared, according to Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson. The Ghana Armed Forces have been instrumental in this initial stage of the ambitious infrastructure development.
Dr Forson’s announcement highlights a key milestone in the government's plans to upgrade the vital transport link between Accra and Kumasi. The expressway aims to ease congestion, reduce travel times, and boost economic activity in the region. The clearing of the corridor represents a substantial step towards the project's realisation.
Following the land clearing, the focus now shifts to compensation plans for landowners affected by the expressway's construction. Details regarding the compensation process and timeline are expected to be released soon. The government has stated its commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent process for all involved, acknowledging the impact on local communities.
The Accra-Kumasi Expressway is considered a flagship project for the government, signifying its dedication to improving national infrastructure. It is anticipated that the completed expressway will not only benefit commuters but also contribute to the overall growth and development of Ghana’s economy.
